The Quaives Retreat is a hidden gem, surrounded by the peaceful countryside of East Kent, a real escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.

This stunning place offers a real sense of retreat with a touch of the luxury. There are a range of accommodation options and a brand new beautiful yoga studio with high ceilings, and a communal diner-lounge with log burner.

There is a hot tub, tennis court, fire pit, and cedar wood pavilion and gorgeous formal gardens and grounds to explore, that open onto meadows and the lakes beyond.

The yoga retreat is a short distance from two stunning beautiful villages of Ickham and Wickhambreaux if you want to explore a little further...but you might not want to leave!

The yoga and movement classes will be suitable for all levels with a more dynamic class in the mornings to energise and prepare us for the day, and a nice lazy, relaxing and restorative class for the afternoons.

We will explore many facets of the yoga practice in these classes including postures, breath work, meditation and mantra chanting, There will also be a chance, for those that are interested, for an introduction to one of the yoga cleansing techniques called Jala Neti (nasal cleansing with water).

All classes are designed to allow you to untangle from the busyness of your mind and come back into the reality of the body and breath so you will leave feeling more connected and just more you.

We will practice with lightness, compassion and a sense of play ... sincere yes, but definitely not serious!

I am always happy to chat about all things yoga if you have any questions over the weekend about your practice or how to incorporate yoga into your life.

We want you to sleep and rest really well on this retreat.

We have a range of luxury accommodation available from single occupancy cottage rooms to a shared dormitory (which are about as far from your backpacker dorm as you can get).

Some accommodation options have kitchen and lounge areas and all have top spec spotless bathrooms and super comfy beds.

...oh the food!

One thing we do take seriously on this retreat is the food. We are major foodies all round and guarantee you will not go hungry.

Mealtimes really are the heart and soul of this retreat providing a feast for the senses and chance to gather,

Our meals will be lovingly prepared by my wife Claire of The Good Life Kitchen. She lives and breathes food and it shows! All meals will be made using as much local and organic produce as possible and will be vegetarian or vegan. We can cater for food allergies and intolerances so just let us know at the time of booking.

Following Ayurvedic principles, lunch will be the largest meal of the day eaten when our digestive fire is strongest, with a lighter evening meal to help you sleep soundly and wake up feeling refreshed and ready for yoga.

And...there is no retreat without 'treat', so we will provide some afternoon indulgences and dessert. We will have coffee at breakfast time too if you need your fix!

Just to make sure you get well and truly into this relaxation thing, we are very lucky to have the wonderful Marta of Floating Feather Holistic joining us to offer massages and treatments on this retreat.

She does a range of very special Ayurvedic and Aromatherapy treatments including:

Ayurvedic Full Body Massage:

Ancient full body massage that makes you feel relaxed and rejuvenated. Performed with a tailored ayurvedic blend to balance your dosha.

  • improve skin complexion, blood circulation and sleep

  • tones muscles

  • stimulate and strengthen the nervous system

  • loosen toxins

  • slow down the ageing process

An ideal treatment for anyone that wants relaxation or maintenance.

Please note that no sheets can be used for covering you, but disposable underpants are provided.

Aromatherapy Massage:

After a brief consultation to choose the best aromatherapy blend, this relaxing, full-body massage will transport you to a no-worries land, making you feel lighter and totally relaxed.

Aromatherapy uses the various properties of essential oils to assist the body's own natural healing process and enhance well-being.

Aromatheraphy Chakra Massage:

After a consultation where I discuss with you the relative chakra blockages, I will perform a full body and face massage, focusing on the chakra in need. You will be bathed by the energy of that chakra and will be given a mantra to keep in mind during the treatment.

I will use a specific aromatherapy blend to soothe your pains. At the end of the session, you will be given a small crystal to remind you to focus and pay attention to what was worked on.

The 7 chakras are the centers in our bodies in which energy flows through. Blocked energy in our 7 chakras can often lead to illness.

Indian Head Massage

  • stimulate head circulation and hair growth

  • relieve stiffness and tension in the head and neck.

  • aid headaches, migraine and hair loss

Face-lift Massage or Holistic Facial
